Passport photos!

Oh man, God is soooo good! We went and did our passport photo's this afternoon in preparation for our trip to Home Affairs early tomorrow morning.  What an experience.  Alexander, darling heart, refused to co-operate.  The end result is an angry, mug-shot type photo.  Beatrice is teething again.  Her photo is the only shot they could get that didn't have gob running down her chin or her tongue hanging out.  Emiel is gorgeous sporting the early stages of a Movember and me well, what can I say, its a passport photo... Please pray that the passport process goes quickly! And on other fronts Alexander and his daddy really, really cannot eat sugar and gluten!  They bounce and then pass out.  Not cool.   Emiel, Alexander and my brother, Anthony   Much love Philippa

The land of the rising sun and other exciting changes

Hello world... I'm back!!! And I have got news!!!  Firstly I'd love to share with you that we are now a gluten, dairy and sucrose free family!  Woohoo!  In this change Alexander has picked up weight and Emiel and I have lost weight.  Beatrice on the other hand is growing just as she should, beautifully! In other news...we are in the (very overwhelming) process of moving to Japan for a year!  God has done sooooo much in our hearts and I promise I will write a post just on that.  Two Sundays ago our pastor asked us if we'd be interested in going to Japan to teach and get involved with a church there.  My response was to burst into tears.  We WILL go WHEREVER God calls us!  Obviously we said yes.  This Sunday it was confirmed and thus began a VERY overwhelming week.  There are some MAJOR mountains that need moving before we can board a plane to an adventure we feel so called to.  Please, please pray for us and if you want to sup...
Hi all This post is just to say that I am putting a thousand blue fish on hold for an overhall.  Some things will be changing.  Things to look forward to will be Emiel's weekly input.  He'll be posting from the persepective of a husband and father and just generally a guy.  I will also have weekly dair free recipes and some other bits and pieces.  Emiel finishes his studies this week.  Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!  And Beatrice turns 1 in two weeks!!!!!!!!! Much Love Philippa  Oh, and I m about to launch a little accesories line!

Words (if you read nothing else, read the atricles)

I am a jumbled up disarray of thoughts that don't seem to want to become anything.  I finally have (space, time, children in another room, the laptop, internet access) to write and I can't seem to scratch out anything that means, well anything.  My husband is trying, very sweetly, to keep the babas away for just a bit and as much as I tell that I don't know what to write he seems determined to have me sit here.  I have been a basketcase of late and I think he's hoping that this will act as an outlet.  I love him. This being poor-thing is difficult on one's sense of humour especially when one's sense of humour is non-existent.  Our children have been sick.  My mom started really pressing me to take them to the doctor saying she'd pay, so off we went.  Beatrice, all gross and snotty, is not too sick, but Alexander is really sick with croup.  Awesome (hint the note of sarcasm)!  So off hubbles and I go to the pharmacy with two scr...

When I grow up

I am excited.  On the horizon there is a future resembling my dreams.  I am confident to say that we are moving forward.  We have made some definite decisions, like we will not ever buy Coke again.  Or at least we'll try not to.  And I am going to become a surfer.  And when I grow up I'll have a surf company, or we will.  And I am going to write a cookbook for families like mine.  And I am making really adventurous food at the moment.  Just wanted to share that. Much love Philippa

God's faithfulness and Emiel the surfcoach

So I know I haven't written in a looong time.  And I have real reason for abandoning you (for those of you who have missed my blog and felt abandoned).  I have mentioned it before that we don't have internet at home and I have wanted to make sure that I don't put too much pressure on my parents by being at their place too often.  Oh, and my stinky attitude would have probably caused me to lose a bunch of you. Anyway, The reason for this post is that I just wanted to say that God is faithful.  To be honest we are poor (like waying up the cost of buying cleaning products versus buying food) and I was starting to feel completely hopeless.  It had gotten so bad I had panic attacks. During this time I picked up Stormie Omartian's Power of the Praying Wife and started praying for Emiel (please understand that this was hard.  It is not easy praying for someone you are angry at).  Then  a copy of ...

Helloooooo! I've been sewing!

So I have been absent for a bit No real reason, just life And a serious. serious lack of finance But all is good Ok kinda good I am creating and trying things I haven't for years I studied fashion designing and should be quite a compitent creative, designer type person But I don't do well with criticism For some silly reason when I make something I want people to like it If they don't I generally stop creating Our financial siuation and a sewing lesson I helped with reminded me I am semi-skilled So I started making stuff  The next bunch of pics are of my creativity in action I am proud of myself as I have made two pairs of pants for Alexander, 1 for a friend of Alexander's, 3 flower brooches and three head bands it is this special girl's 9th birthday birthday today i would love to share her story but i would need to get permission from her and my parents just know she is a miracle cioa readers, you mean the world to me much love Philippa
